Boquete

The trip is going on =) next stop…….. Boquete, and like everywhere: beautiful, nice and helpful people.
Before I start with the interesting and funny storys, I will give you some information about this beautiful landscape:

Boquete is a small mountain town in Panama. It is located in the western-most Province of Chiriqui, about 60 kilometres from the border with Costa Rica, in Panama’s green mountain highlands. Because of its elevation, about 1,200 metres above sea level, its climate is cooler than that of the lowlands. In Boquete you can also hike on a volcano, where you can see both oceans. To the west, the pacific ocean and to the east, the caribbean sea, atlantic ocean. That was the reason for my visit.

The bus trip from Panama City to Boquete took about eight hours. It was a funny bus ride, after thousands of beers with Pablo and Elsa, it was time to say “hasta pronto!”. My bus left at ten o’clock at the evening. After a short sobering sleep, we arrived in David at about four, five o’clock in the morning. I’ve had better days in my life =) but at the bus station in David there was a coffee shop……yesssss…. after a cup of coffee, the day will be getting much more better =) and one coffee to go =) but this joy was gone very quickly…. I think, after 15 minutes, our bus driver thought that he is in a middle of a race =) I dropped down my coffee after a “crispy” curve =) all the coffee was on my thigh (and between my thighs) and it was very hot. It also looked very funny =) So it was six in the mornig when I arrived with “pissed of” pants at the main square in Boquete. After the dress over at the main square with bystanders, I searched for a hostel.

I found a wonderful hostel in the middle of this small city. During my first day I walked around the city. A little sight seeing tour =) At my hostel I met many nice people. We cooked together and had a lot of fun during the night =)

At the next day we climbed up to a volcano, “Volcan Barú”. It was not a easy walk and the way was very very very long =)
The van picked us up at about midnight at our hostel. The whole way up to the peak was about five, six hours and it was really cold. But it was the first time since months that I saw the big bear at the starry sky. So I’m back on the right hemisphere =)
Our walking group contained six people. A couple from germany, Lara from germany and Hussein from Armenia. We had plenty of time to discuss every imaginable conversation!! There is not much to say except, really nice people. I gave my second pair of socks to Hussein because he only had short socks and I gave my gloves to Lara =) That was the beginning of a very very nice friendship =) I love you guys =)

We had also luck with the weather because we really saw both oceans and it was awesome. It is very often the case, that you cannot see both oceans because the fog is too thick. But I said it, we had luck =) and it was wonderfull. After the peak beer and after many photos we walked back. The whole trip took about eleven hours, it was a hard job.

Back to the hostel we cooked together. We had a wonderfull meal and of course good beers. Our group was growing every hour and you can see it, a multi culture family =) and this night was really funny. So many different people with different backgrounds, countrys and religion but we had all together a lot of fun (you will see it at the last photos)!! Thanks for this beautiful experience!

After a short night and with many muscle soreness, I decided to go with Hussein to Bocas del Toro. And I can tell you that much, it was a good decision =)
