The flight was wonderful. A short, two and a half hours, flight with interesting talks with my wonderful neighbor! Could be worse =) Thanks for the sweet words and your motivation! Hopefully we will see us again in the Netherlands!!
I made my second nice friendship during the luggage claim. We decided to go out for a drink, all reasons spoke for it =)
Nicola and I went to the hippest disco in town with a roof top bar. NICEST =) Two nice friendships made within one day, perfect!!
I was only one night in Santa Marta. It is not such a beautiful city for me. It is the capital of Magdalena Departmentand and the fourth-largest urban city of the Caribbean Region of Colombia, after Barranquilla, Cartagena, and Soledad. Santa Marta is located on Santa Marta Bay of the Caribbean Sea in the province of Magdalena. It is 992 km from Bogotá and 93 km from Barranquilla. It is bordered to the north and west by the Caribbean and to the south by the municipalities of Aracataca and Ciénaga.
It is a good place to start some activities at the surrounding cities. Good options are: Minca, Taganga and many more.
Daniel, Johannes and I decided to go to Minca. We met us next morning at the “main bus station” =) We wanted to do many activities in Minca =) hiking, cycling, tours…..
The first day was limited, only drinking coffee and have good conversations =) I needed closeness and I got many!! After the first day I felt much better. my batteries were recharged.
If you don´t fell good, I have a simple but effective solution: Go to your friends and go for a talk, you we will see, it works =)
The hostel in Minca was beautiful. It was a large area with pool, hammocks, green areas, bar, bingbong table and many more fun stuffs =) We spent many hours at the bingbong table, at the pool and at the bar =) ideal to come down!!
We only did two activities, canyoning and a sunset walk. It was perfect, the rest of our time, we did nothing…. only recharge our batteries =)
We also noticed that we were in the jungle, there were so many spiders, insects, la cucarachas =) aannndddd mosquitos =( a little more precise: SANDFLIES – they killed me, they are so bad =(
You don’t hear or feel these mosquitos but the stitches are much more extreme. They do not pierce the skin, they scrape the skin and that is the bad point, it itches extremely. My whole foot was swollen, I had over 100 stitches.
It was also the first time that I slept in a hammock. It works perfect, with enough cocktails =) I even got a welcome gift: After my “good night cocktail” I lay down in my hammock. It was very comfortable with a cushion, blanket and mosquito net – “nothing can happen”. I snuggled into my cushion and made myself comfortable, ready to fall asleep. However, I had to switch on my cell phone light again, and then I discovered it =)
A large cockroach sat twenty centimeters above my head, of course she was inside the net =)
– heart stopped – moment of shock –
It took me half an hour to get the cockroach out of my bedroom. Mission accomplished =)
The two activities were also a nice experience. The canyoning tour was really nice, the feeling there was great =)
The sunset walk was very romantic =) Daniel, Johannes and I, we get along very well =) The day before last I met also Lisa again =) *juhuuuuuu* a short reunion =)
The founded family “familia patagonia” is really good for me. A group of six people, really good friends!! I would never have believed that I build such a deep community, friendship during the world trip. THANKS
Daniel also gave me the advice to make the first diving license in Taganga (near Santa Marta). It is one of the cheapest places where you can dive. So I had my next goal: From Minca back to Santa Marta, with the colectivo (a small bus) to Taganga and get there my first diving license – Open Water Dicer – PADI.
I had enough strength again, a new cool destination with a new nice goal!! I was ready for my onward journey – lets GO ON =)
