I forget an other complaint at the new airport in Leticia. During the security check there was a display case with forbidden things in it. I understand that you don´t put things like a lighter, scissors and a bracelet on board but why can´t you put a gun or a grenade on board. No se =)
It was a quiet two hour flight. At the airport we took an inofficial taxi to the city. Lisa was not happy about it. She wanted to take an official taxi. Bogotá is not necessarily the safest city in the world but it was also safe, quiet and we safed money =)
After the check in, in our hostel in Miraflores, I went to a pharmacy to get some medicine. The personal in our hostel was also very friendly, they made tea for me and gave me some local medicine.
The next two days were all about recovery. Lisa was going during my regeneration to Salento. So I was allone =( and it was not easy to manage all alone. But as always, I survived, weed does not pass =)
After my regeneration I had strength again. At the next day I did a Free-Walking-Tour. It was really nice because I was alone with the guide. I had an private tour, nice! The city, with over seven million inhabitans, is really nice and I felt everywhere save. There were a lot of police present and they were really friendly and helpfully! Bogotá is also a very colourfully city with many graphities. During the tour the guy explained me the background of all the graphities, intresting!! We went also to the main square where Pablo Escobar was fighting with the gouverment. I was in the middle of the serie “Narcos” =) I really learned a lot about the city, crime, drug cartels and history. Thanks for that!!
After the tour I met a girl from Costa Rica. We drunk a coffee, ate Tiramisu and she told me some nice places in Costa Rica. Maybe I will see her there, I am looking forward to it.
At the next day I went up to Monserrate. It is a high Mountain over 10,000 feet high that dominates the city center of Bogotá. It rises to 3,152 metres above the sea level, where there is a church (built in the 17th century) with a shrine, devoted to El Senor Caido (“The Fallen Lord”). There are two options to get to the peak. The first and most popular one is the cable car. I prefered to walk because if you are able to get there per feet you have to do it!! It tooks about one and a half hour to get all the steps, it was not easy for me after my illness. But the view over the city is wonderfull!!
I also met two girls in my hostel, one from Venecuela and one girl from Colombia. The girl from Colombia was a little bit crazy. She always touched me and said I look like Tarzan =) hahaha a really crazy girl. I cannot say everything about her because it is not family safe =)
The other girl was much friendlier and the best thing, she was normal =) I had some spain lessons with here and walked with here to the supermarkt! Nice friendship!
I was unfortunately about one week in this big city, but I really had to recover. The next destination was a layover to Salento, Armenia. I looked forward to get out of this big city. I took, as so often, a night bus. The next over ten hours drive was ahead of me.
